You feel overwhelmed and uncertain. You don’t want to make the wrong choice because you have goals for yourself. However, you don’t feel as motivated as you used to. You are feeling stuck, and it is frustrating. You don’t want to disappoint the ones you love but you are having a hard time doing it all. It feels like you are under the weight of a lot of pressure and stress.

You may have been taught that it is not ok to show your emotions. You try to hold it in, but efforts to hide your feelings can be exhausting over time. You try to put all your worries in a box, but it just won’t stay closed. In the past the box kept everything together but now it is starting to fall apart, and you feel frustrated with yourself. You feel like you should be able to control your feelings. You feel like you should be able to move past this tough time. You want to snap out of it and just be strong. However, it is hard, and you feel broken.

I have a message for you, you are not weak and continuing to survive when we feel stressed and overwhelmed takes a lot of energy. Therapy can be a great place to start unloading what is overwhelming us.

First, awareness of what is keeping us stuck is often the beginning step in making a change. In therapy we work together to untangle all the things that feel so stressful. We will begin to create space for you to breathe and to feel like your authentic self. As a therapist, I will help you reflect on what choices you have, and we will also talk about what skills can be useful to you. I know you want to feel better. Let’s work on it together.
